World premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Symphony No. 6

On May 9, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Symphony No. 6 will be premiered in Estonia Concert Hall. New piece will be performed by Nordic Symphony Orchestra and conductor Anu Tali, to whom the piece is also dedicated.

In November 2007, the Nordic Symphony Orchestra will perform Tüür’s symphony also in Berlin Philharmonic Hall.

In this season the orchestra has commissioned, in addition to Tüür’s symphony, new orchestral piece also from Tõnu Kõrvits, whose “Sung into the wind” was premiered in January.

The Nordic Symphony Orchestra concert “Apocalypsis” will take place on May 9, at 7 p.m. in Estonia Concert Hall, Tallinn and on May 10, at 7 p.m. in Vanemuise Concert Hall, Tartu. Beside Tüür’s piece the concert programme inludes also “Don Quixote” by Richard Strauss and "Elegies of Thule" by Tõnu Kõrvits.
