On December 11 at 7 pm, Tallinn Philharmonic Society’s series „Portrait“ presents composer Tõnu Kõrvits. Music will be performed by Kirsi Tilk (guitar), Virgo Veldi (saxophone), Madis Metsamart (vibraphone), Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Kaspars Putninš. Conversation with composer will be carried by musicologist Evi Arujärv. Program includes one of composer’s first piece Concerto semplice for guitar and string orchestra as well as currently the last piece The Canticle of the Sun for chamber choir (Estonian premiere). Also ...in these gardens for alto saxophone and chamber orchestra and Spring for vibraphone and alto saxophone.
