Toivo Tulev’s new work „I Heard the Voices of Children“ for choir, soloists and instrumental ensemble will be premiered on June 1 in Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. „I Heard the Voices of Children“ sets the words of William Blake, a Ballyeamon cradle song, and names of the lost children of Tuam. The work is a joint commision of chamber choir The Crossing and Los Angeles Philharmonic for the „Noon to Midnight“ festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. 1-day festival is filled with pop-up performances throughout Walt Disney Concert Hall by 1100 musicians, works by 53 composers and 22 premieres. The Crossing performs also Gabriel Jackson's „Rigwreck“ (2013) and movements of Stratis Minakakis' „Crossings Cycle“ (2015/2017). Conductor is Donald Nally.
