From June 17–23, Suure-Jaani Music festival will take place for the 14th time. Event dedicated to Kapp-family (composers Artur, Villem and Eugen Kapp) offers also music by other Estonian composers, world classics and contemporary music as well.
Performers are estonian Antional Symphony Orchestram children’s choir Ellerhein, pianist Mihkel Mattisen, Estonian National Male Choir, Tobias String Quartet, Hele-Riin Uib and Aleksandra Anstal (percussion), Ain Varts (electriv guitar), Andres Uibo (organ), Jüri Leiten (trumpet), Estonian Television Girls’ Choir, Toomas Vavilov (clarinet) a.o. Program contains also competition for French horn players, opening of exhibitions and film nights including silent movie “Christus” with Toomas Trass’s organ improvisations and singing of gregorian ensemble Vox Clamantis.
Exciting venues: café Arturi Juures, Suure-Jaani church, Olustvere bakehouse, Vastemõisa garner, Hüpassaare bog island. Special timings: events both at nights and dawn.
Festival’s artistic director is Andres Uibo.
