Summer organ festivals begin in Pärnu and by the lake Peipus



On Friday, June 5, two organ festivals begin in Estonia. II Peipsimaa Organ Festival takes place from June 5 to 27 in Lutheran churches by the lake Peipus. Concerts present repaired organs in Iisaku, Kodavere, Lohusuu, Räpina, Avinurme and Torma. Performers are Elke Unt (organ), Saimi Kortelainen (violin), Lande Lampe-Kits (flute), Elle Fuchs (bassoon), organ duo Irina Lampen and Jaana Jokimies (Finland) and Kristel Eeroja-Põldoja (violin). Festival’s organiser is Elke Unt and Hugo Lepnurm Music Society.

XIII Pärnu Organ Festival launches on June 5 in Pärnu St. Elizabeth’s Church and offers concerts till the end of August. Along with Estonian top organists (Jaanus Torrim, Tiia Tenno, Hille Poroson, Ines Maidre, Marju Riisikamp, Aaro Tetsmann) also musicians from Denmark, Norway, Holland and Finland will perform. Together with organ, also saxophone quartet, soprano, violins and viola appear on the stage during the festival. Festival’s artistic director is Ines Maidre, concerts take place in summer months in Pärnu St. Elizabeth’s Church on Fridays at 8 pm.
