Jüri Reinvere’s new orchestral work “Maria Anna, wach, im Nebenzimmer” (“Maria Anna, awake, in the next room”) will be premiered on three evenings at the Bamberg Concert Hall, where the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Andris Nelsons. The Nocturne for large orchestra is inspired by the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s sister Maria Anna. The work was commissioned by Mozartfest, an annual four-week classical music festival in Würzburg, celebrating its 100th birthday this year. In addition to Reinvere’s work, Anton Bruckner's 6th Symphony in A major will be performed at the concert. The concerts will take place on June 9, 10 and 11 at the Bamberg Concert Hall in the Joseph Keilberth Hall. The concert on June 11 will be broadcast on Deutschlandfunk Kultur starting at 8 p.m. More info: Bamberger Symphoniker Sikorski |
