Premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s piece from Orthodox Singers

On April 27 at 6 pm, Easter concert of vocal ensemble Orthodox Singers will take place in Tallinn St. Nicholas’ Church where alongside of Orthodox music, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s “Triglosson trishagion” will be premiered. New piece for mixed choir a cappella is written on ancient text used in Orthodox service and will be sung alternately in Estonian, Russian and Greek. Divers languages are referred also by the title – triglosson (trilingual, in Greek). In addition, the programme consists of sacred chants of Orthodox Church services from 18th to 21st century, different styles of Orthodox Church singing and sacred choral music by Pavel Chesnokov, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Alexander Grechaninov and Sergei Rachmaninov and also works by Estonian composers. The artistic director of the ensemble is Valeri Petrov.
