New work by Aaro Pertmann will be premiered

On May 22, brand new work Masks of the Soul, Op. 40 for piano tiro by Aaro Pertmann will receive its world premiere performance at Russian Cultural Centre in Tallinn at 5 pm. New piece will be performed by New Tallinn Trio (Harry Traksmann – violin, Kaido Kelder – cello, Marrit Gerretz-Traksmann – piano). The program also consists of chamber music by Dmitri Shostakovich and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Aaro Pertmann studied music theory in Tallinn Georg Ots Music School and at the same time composition under Alo Põldmäe. In 1996, Pertmann graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music in composition as a student of Eino Tamberg. Pertmann’s works have been performed by girls’ choir Ellerhein, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Nõmme City Orchestra, Tallinn Saxophone Quartet, cellist Pärt Tarvas, pianists Mati Mikalai and Martti Raide, saxophonist Virgo Veldi, harpist Tatjana Lepnurm, soprano Pille Lill, baritone Villu Valdmaa and others. His music has been presented in several places in Estonia, mainly at the Estonian Music Days Festival.
