The Estonian Foundation of Musical Instruments in collaboration with the state concert institution Eesti Kontsert has launched new concert series "The treasures of the Instrument Foundation". The aim of the new series is to present the young Estonian musicians who have given for temporary use the historic instruments from the collection of the Estonian Foundation of Musical Instruments.
The collection of the historic instruments includes ten different string instruments, which can be heard in the new concert series. The first concert on September 15 features cellists Theodor Sink and Leho Karin as well as harpsichordist Reinut Tepp. The programme consists of the music by French composers, including Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, François Francoeur, Auguste-Joseph Franchomme, and Jacques Offenbach.
Theodor Sink plays on a cello made by Auguste Sébastien Bernardel (Père) in 1842 and Leho Karin on a cello made by Francois Fourrier Nicolas in 1798.
