New choral work „Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!” by Toivo Tulev to welcome Queen Elizabeth II

In honour of Queen Elizabeth II visiting Estonia on October 19 and 20, a new choral work „Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!” by Estonian composer Toivo Tulev will be premiered at the KUMU Art Museum. Toivo Tulev (1958) is one of the most distinguished Estonian composers, head of the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy composition department. In 2006, he was awarded the Estonian Music Council’s Music Prize. His new choral work “Rejoice…!” was commissioned by the British Embassy and will be premiered by Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Paul Hillier at the concert to welcome Elisabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom.

In addition to Tulev’s new work, „O Lord, make thy servant Elizabeth” by William Byrd, „Blessed is the Man” by Cyrillus Kreek and „...which was the Son of...” by Arvo Pärt are included in the programme of the concert at the KUMU Art Museum.
