Today, Naxos releases Toivo Tulev’s new album with composer’s vocal music: „Suvine vihm“ („Summer Rain“, text: Toivo Tulev), „Tanto gentile“ (text: Dante Alighieri), „I said, Who are You – He said, You“ (text: Mansur al-Hallaj, T. S. Eliot), „Flow, My Tears“ (tekst: John Dowland, Holy Week Improperia, Toivo Tulev, premiere recording) and „Magnificat“ (text: from Gospel of Luke, premeire recording) and percussion work „Legatissimo“ (premiere recording). Toivo Tulev’s music is performed by Latvian Radio Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Kaspars Putniņš, Ka Bo Chan (countertenor), Ieva Ezeriete (soprano), Inga Martinsone (soprano), Virgo Veldi (alto saxophone), Age Juurikas (positive organ), Heigo Rosin (percussion) and Vambola Krigul (percussion). Booklet of the CD ise written by composer Eugene Birman who was a student of Toivo Tulev in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre from 2010–2011 as a Fulbright grantee.
