Festival under the direction of Andres Mustonen will take place from January 29 to February 6 in Tallinn and other cities of Estonia.
Festival guests are State Choir Latvija, Boris Berezovsky (piano, Russia), Serbian Byzantine Choir, Giora Feidman Trio (Israel), Chamber Orchestra Moscow Virtuosi and Keren Hadar (soprano, Israel). Estonian collectives appear on the stage as well: Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta, Estonian National Male Choir, Hortus Musicus and Art Jazz Quartet (Andres Mustonen (violin), Jaak Sooäär (guitar), Taavo Remmel (double bass), Tanel Ruben (percussion)), and harpsichord players Ivo Sillamaa, Reinut Tepp and Lembit Orgse.
The festival will start with the world premiere of Alexander Raskatov’s full version of „Byzantine Rite“. Soon after the concert in Tallinn, the composition will be conducted by Andres Mustonen in Helsinki and Riga, performed by Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. The opening concert presents also Sergey Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3, soloist is the pianist Boris Berezovsky. Festival will end with Gala Concert, where among other numbers harpsichordists Ivo Sillamaa, Reinut Tepp and Lembit Orgse will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for Three Harpsichords.
