Paavo Järvi is conductor on a Grammy-winning CD

A CD with music by Modest Mussorgsky, conducted by Paavo Järvi has won a Grammy award. Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra performs Mussorgsky’s pieces Pictures at an Exhibition, Night on Bald Mountain and Prelude to Khovanshchina. The CD, recorded by USA’s company Telarc, won in category of Best Surround Sound Album.

 

The award was given to the CD’s surround mix engineer Michael Bishop and producer Robert Woods.

In 2004 Paavo Järvi won Grammy award for the best choral performance with Estonian National Male Choir, Ellerhein Girls’ Choir and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra for the performance of Sibelius’ cantatas.
