Today, on March 28 at 6 pm, concert dedicated to the 133rd anniversary of Estonian composer Artur Kapp will take place at the Home Museum of the Kapp Family in Suure-Jaani. In addition to Kapp’s solo songs and Prelude for cello and piano, also music by Heino Eller, Edvard Grieg, Johann Adolph Hasse, Percy Code and Luigi Boccherini will be performed by Aare Tammesalu (cello), Piia Paemurru (piano), Laur Keller (trumpet), Johannes Sarapuu (cello) and Mati Palm (bass).
Concert is organised by the Artur Kapp International Society.

Artur Kapp (February 28, 1878–January 14, 1952) was one of Estonia’s first professional composers and the founder of a composition school influential in the first half of the 20th century. His oeuvre includes both works for symphony orchestra and chamber music, choir and solo songs. Artur Kapp wrote Estonia’s first organ concerto, overture, symphony, cantatas and organ sonata. |
