Talvi Hunt

Talvi Hunt is an Estonian pianist whose main focus is performing contemporary music. She is active as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra player.

In 2017 Talvi obtained a Master´s degree in contemporary music interpretation with prof. Florian Hoelscher at Hochschule Luzern Musik. Before that, she received her Bachelor´s degree in music performance from Estonian Academy for Music and Theatre with Age Juurikas. She also studied at Georg Ots Tallinn Music School with teachers Ia Remmel and Ülle Sisa and at Keila Music School with Ada Kiisk.

Talvi has participated in many masterclasses, as well contemporary music courses such as Donaueschinger Musiktage (DE), Darmstadt, 48th Internationalen Ferienkursen für Neue Musik (DE), IMPULS Academy (AT), Lucerne Festival Academy.

She has collaborated with different collectives such as Collegium Novum Zürich, Ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble Ö, Ensemble YXUS, Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra. She has performed in many international festivals, including Lucerne Festival, Festival ECLAT, reMusik, Warsaw Autumn, ISCM World New Music Days, Baltic Music Days, etc.

Since 2015 she is working with the Ensemble of Nomads (Switzerland). Talvi is currently also part of the Estonian National Opera Orchestra and Ensemble for New Music Tallinn. Since 2022 she is the new music coordinator at Tallinn School of Music and Ballet. Talvi has been invited for workshops and masterclasses in Hochschule Luzern Musik and Estonian Academy for Music and Theatre.
