Estonian Theatre and Music Museum celebrates the 95th anniversary of Villem Kapp

On April 16 at 4 p.m. museum evening that celebrates the 95th anniversary of composer and pedagogue Villem Kapp will take place in Estonian Theatre and Music Museum. At the event titled as „Afternoon with „Northcoast” Singer. Villem Kapp 95”, a new book „Girl in the light-blue dress. Selected letters by Villem Kapp” will be presented. The book, published by „SE&JS”, comprises Johannes Jürisson’s short play „Girl in the light-blue dress” based on one circumstance in composer’s life and selection of Villem Kapp’s letters written in the last years of his life. Both play and letters are connected to the subject of love which is intertwined also with his music. The book is compiled by Tiiu Tosso.
At the museum evening hosted by Alo Põldmäe, Villem Kapp’s music will be performed by Lilian Kapp (piano), Mati Turi (tenor) and Martti Raide (piano). Composer will be reminded by Arne Mikk, Tiiu Tosso and others. Villem Kapp’s letters and excertps from the Johannes Jürisson’s play will be read by Iivi Lepik.
