Estonian Theatre and Music Museum celebrates the 100th anniversary of Eugen Kapp

On June 17 at 4 pm, Estonian Theatre and Music Museum celebrates the100th anniversary of Estonian composer and pedagogue Eugen Kapp with the museum evening titled as Remembering Eugen Kapp. At the museum evening hosted by Alo Põldmäe, Eugen Kapp will be reminded by his students and colleagues – Eino Tamberg, Olav Ehala, Jaan Rääts, Olev Sau, Veljo Tormis, Teo Maiste, Anne Erm and others. Vocal music by Eugen Kapp will be performed by Mati Palm (bass) and Katrin Paat (piano). Exhibiton of composer’s manuscripts will be opened.

Eugen Kapp (1908–1996) has composed numerous chamber music works for different instruments including the voice, choral and symphonic music, but the most considerable part of his oeuvre is music written for stage (6 operas and 2 ballets). He has been related to Tallinn State Conservatoire as a pedagogue for many years.
