On December 11 at 5 p.m., the Estonian Sinfonietta's advent concert in Viimsi St. Jocab’s Church will once again bring wonderful music by Estonian composers to the listeners for the beginning of the Christmas season.
The concert program includes Arvo Pärt’s „Mirror in the Mirror”, Galina Grigorjeva’s „Molitva”, Tõnu Kõrvits’s „Four Estonian Sacred Folk Tunes”, Rasmus Puur's „Moments”, and the world premiere of Pärt Uusberg’s „Wild Swans” for vibraphone and strings.
Soloists at this concert are Tõnu Jõesaar (cello), Andreas Lend (cello), Maila Laidna (piano) and Karl Johann Lattikas (vibraphone), concertmasters are Valeria Rjumina and Fred Heinoja.
Estonian Sinfonietta is an orchestra connecting creatively active musicians, who have played together for many years, and performed in the most prestigious European concert halls like Golden Hall of Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Philharmonics of Cologne and St Petersburg, Flagey and Bozar of Brussels as well as at many festivals – Ars Musica in Belgium, Festival Internazionale Pianistico di Brescia e Bergamo, Mittelfest and Festival Emilia Romagna in Italy, Iitti Music Festival in Finland, Musikfest Kreuth am Tegernsee in Germany among others.
Estonian Sinfonietta’s configuration depends on it’s repertoire. Therefore, the orchestra forms a flexible ensemble, which enables to play substantial part of the world’s musical heritage from different eras, performing symphonic pieces and take part in opera projects. Presenting Estonian music and artists to the world, holds great value to the orchestra.
