Estonian Sinfonietta opens its season

The Estonian Sinfonietta will open its season with concert „Chimes“ on October 22 at 5 p.m. in Tallinn House of the Blackheads.

Alongside Veljo Tormis' „It Is Late Summer“ from „Reminiscentia: Autumn Landscapes“, I movement from Concerto for Chamber Orchestra by Jaan Rääts, Arvo Pärt's „Spiegel im Spiegel“ and „Ludus“ from „Tabula rasa“, Jaakko Kuusisto's magical Cello Concerto will be performed for the first time in Estonia. The cello soloist is Jan-Erik Gustafsson. Estonian Sinfonietta' concertmaster at this concert is Anna-Liisa Bezrodny.

The Estonian Sinfonietta's starting season brings listeners plenty of joy of discovery. Some rarely played classical works will be performed, and some others will be reminded again. There are also Estonian premieres. By the end of 2023, the Estonian Sinfonietta's first recording will be released – an album that contains Pärt Uusberg's instrumental works. Robert Jürjendal will create a new piece for the final concert of the season in May.
