Estonian National Male Choir under the guidance of Paavo Järvi participates in the symphonic poem „Kullervo“ in Paris

On September 15 and 16, Estonian National Male Choir will participate in the season opening concerts of the Orchestre de Paris. Orchestra will be conducted by Paavo Järvi who is the next music director of the orchestra, beginning with the 2010/2011 season. The program consists of ballet music

for orchestra by Paul Dukas and symphonic poem

Kullervo

, Op. 7

for soloists, choir and orchestra by Jean Sibelius. The soloists will be soprano Soile Isokoski and bass-baritone Juha Uusitalo from Finland, together with Estonian National Male Choir, also Le Chœur de l’Orchestre de Paris will participate.

Paavo Järvi

Paavo Järvi is the seventh Music Director of the Orchestre de Paris in 2010–2011, joining an eminent list of conductors who have held the post since 1967, including: Charles Munch, Herbert von Karajan, sir Georg Solti, Daniel Barenboim, Semyon Bychkov and Cristoph Eschenbach.
