Estonian Dream Big Band celebrates its tenth anniversary

Ten years ago, on March 17th 1998, Estonian Dream Big Band came to existence, in the upper hand of Tallinn Philharmonic Society. Estonian Dream Big Band gives three birthday concerts: on March 12th at 7 PM in Narva Geneva Center, on March 14th at 6 PM in first studio of Estonian Radio and on March 15th at 7 PM in Võru cultural house Kannel. Laura Põldvere, Riho Sibul and Mart Mardisalu will perform with Estonian Dream Big Band.

Estonian Dream Big Band consists of professional musicians that are able to express themselves in versatile musical language. Among them are freelance musicians, also instrumentalists from other orchestras. The founder and artistic leader of Estonian Dream Big Band is Jüri Leiten, the director of Tallinn Philharmonic Society.

In addition to big band repertory, Estonian Dream Big Band has also contributed to developing Estonian contemporary music by performing new works by young composers. At Estonian Music Days 2004 Estonian Dream Big Band conducted by Örjan Fahlström had an unforgettable concert program which included Steps by Tauno Aints, Aria with Walking Cat by Mirjam Tally, Kaz Dream by Ülo Krigul and What’s in Your Heart by Raul Sööt.
