Ensemble U: (Tarmo Johannes - flute, Helena Tuuling - clarinet, Merje Roomere - violin, Levi-Danel Mägila - cello, Vambola Krigul - percussion, Taavi Kerikmäe - piano) will perform at the Biennale Musica of the Venice Biennale. Ensemble’s concert takes place on October 15 in Sala d’Armi in Arsenale. Program consists of the premiere of new work by Fausto Sebastiani (festival’s commission), Vittorio Zago’s Ricercari for flute, clarinet, violin and cello, Helena Tulve’s Pathless Land for clarinet, cello and piano from Rimlands, Tatjana Kozlova-Johannes’s Love Song, version for flute, violin and instruments ad libitum, Märt-Matis Lill’s My weeping voice is the wind of autumn for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion, and Jüri Reinvere’s The Minutes for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, percussion and soundtrack.
Before the concert in Venice, Ensemble U: appears twice on the stage in Palermo as well. Their concerts take place on October 12 and 13 in Goethe-Institut, latter one together with the Sicilian Improvisers Orchestra.
