Ensemble Duo Telluur presented debut album

Estonian ensemble Duo Telluur presented their new debut album Evening Mosaic in mid-December, released both digitally and as a CD by Belgian-based international record label Etcetera Records. The CD consists all together of 11 tracks (including one bonus track) which present the most performed and admired pieces through the five years of ensemble history. All these works form a kind of a mosaic of evening thoughts and moods.

The album includes works composed for the ensemble by Estonian composers René Eespere, Lauri Jõeleht, Mingo Rajandi, and Eugen Linde but also arrangements of works by Béla Bartók, Modest Mussorgsky, Gustav Holst, and Enrique Granados. The opening piece of the album Recollections is composed specially for the ensemble by Cuban-American guitarist and composer José Lezcano.

Duo Telluur, a duo of classical guitar and English horn, is a formation which is extremely rare in the music world. It was formed in 2015 by guitarist Kirill Ogorodnikov and English horn player and oboist Heli Ernits. The name of Duo Telluur comes from the chemical element Silver (Tellurium in Latin), which is as rare and delicate as the ensemble.
