European Culture Capital Tallinn 2011 presents Nordic Symphony Orchestra’s new program Meeting Place: Estonia, that consists of Symphony No. 10 by Dmitry Shostakovich, Piano Concerto No. 3 by Sergey Prokofiev and Overture No. 2 by Veljo Tormis. Overture No. 2 (1959) with neoclassicist features was one of the breakthrough works of the stylistic renewal in Estonian music and the first Estonian piece in the program of Warsaw Autumn in 1961. Conductor is Anu Tali, the founder of NSO. Concerts will take place on November 24 at 7 pm in Tartu Vanemuine Concert Hall and November 25 at 7 pm in Estonia Concert Hall, Tallinn.
