Concerts of Andres Uibo and Mari-Liis Uibo in France and Italy

On August 24 at 4 pm, solo concert of organist Andres Uibo will take place in Notre-Dame de Paris, where the music of Jean Sibelius, Felix Mendelssohn, Arvo Pärt and Andres Uibo will be played. In August, Andres Uibo can be listened at two concerts within the international organ music festivals in Italy as well. On August 26 at 9.15 pm, Andres Uibo will perform with violinist Mari-Liis Uibo in the Basilica San Vitale in Ravenna and August 27 at 9.20 pm in the Basilica of the Sanctuary of La Verna. Programme includes also Estonian music: Pärt, Uibo, Ester Mägi and Artur Kapp.

Andres Uibo is one of the most well-known organists in Estonia, who has given solo concerts in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway, almost all organ cities of former Soviet Union and more. He has recorded several CDs as a soloist and with different ensembles. Uibo is the initiator and director of Tallinn Organ Festival since 1987. Currently he is working as an organist in Tallinn St. Nocholas’s Church, teacher in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and producer in State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert. He has been ascribed annual prizes of Cultural Endowment of Estonia (1995, 1999).

Mari-Liis Uibo (1990) has studied in the Tallinn Music High School and continues now her studies at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts under Prof. Gerhard Schulz. Uibo has achieved international recognition at many competition: diplomas at the competition of young string instrument players of the Estonian String Teachers’ Association (2003, 2005), title of laureate at the young violinists competition in Trento (2004) and others. In November 2007, Uibo with organist Ulla Krigul released CD Bernsteinstraße with Estonian music.
