Concert series „Christmas Air“ will feature Uku Joller

The next concert in the series Christmas Air will feature bass-baritone Uku Joller, organist Toomas Trass and viola player Anne Ilves. The concert will take place on December 11 at 6 pm at St. John’s Church in Tallinn.

The new Advent and Christmas time concert series Christmas Air, organized by the State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert in cooperation with Estonian Evangelical Lutheral Church, started at the end on November. The aim of the concerts is to value Estonian churches and performers of academic music. Christmas Air presents acknowledged singers and instrumentalists. The repertoire consists of arias from oratorios and cantatas as well as loved Christmas carols and instrumental pieces. The concerts will take place in every Advent Saturday at Tallinn St. John’s and St. Nicholas’s Church at 6 pm.


Uku Joller

Uku Joller has graduated from Tallinn State Conservatoire with Professor Mati Palm and Professor Ivo Kuusk and has improved his skill in several mastercourses. He was a singer of the State Academic Theatre Estonia opera chorus and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

He works as a vocal coache in several choirs (including the Estonian National Male Choir) and since 1996, he is also lecturer of Voice for Choral Conductors and Music Teachers Section at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Joller has performed as a soloist in large-scale works, given recitals and also participated in different opera productions. He has collaborated with many outstanding orchestras, conductors and ensembles both in Estonia and abroad. Concert tours have taken him to the most European countries, Israel, USA, Canada, Australia and Japan.

The last concert will present Iris Oja with Ene Nael and Aleksander Hännikäinen.
