Concert dedicated to the memory of the victims of the deportations will be held in St. John's Church in Tallinn

On Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m., a concert „Along the Milky Way“ dedicated to the memory of the victims of the deportations will be held in St. John's Church in Tallinn.

June 14, 1941 and March 25, 1949 are tragic days in the history of Estonia. In June 1941, the representatives of the Soviet regime forcibly removed more than 10,000 people from their homes, in March 1949 more than 22,000 were added to them. Together with all their relatives, whose lives also did not remain the same, the deportation hit a significant part of the Estonian population.

Deportations in the world have not ended even today. The number of people deported from Ukraine to Russia in the last year is huge.

In memory of all of them, the works of Arvo Pärt, Galina Grigorjeva, Tõnu Kõrvits and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki will be performed by the soloists of the Estonian Sinfonietta on June 14.

The entrance is free.
