From September 23 to 26, XII Autumn Festival of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre takes place in Tallinn. Eight events present music from contemporary music classics, new works by composition students of EAMT, vocal improvisation at the main concert and Gian Carlo Menotti’s and Maurice Ravel’s short operas directed by Ingo Normet and Liis Kolle. At the festival, there will perform New Music Ensemble of EAMT (director Taavi Kerikmäe), percussion ensemble for the performance of Steve Reich’s Drumming, students of Tallinn Dance Academy in Imre Sooäär’s interactive piece and a lot of other students of EAMT. From among composition students, pieces by Mait Jüriado, Malle Maltis, Maksim Štšura, Ksenja Zemskaja, Pärt Uusberg, Ardo Ran Varres and Tauno Vilu will be premiered. Festival guest is vocal improvisation pedagogue Marta Hrafnsdóttir from Iceland Academy of Arts.
