From October 23 to 27 the festival Arvo Pärt Days dedicated to Pärt’s music takes place at the Flagey Concert Hall in Brussels. The music of Arvo Pärt will be performed by Helsinki Chamber Choir, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Trio Khnopff, Brussels Philharmonic, Vlaams Radiokoor, Collegium Vocale Gent, and Musiques Nouvelles.
The programmes include Pärt’s Symphony No. 4, „Kanon Pokajanen“, „In Principio“, „Berliner Messe“, „Virgencita“ and much more as well as Overture No. 1 by Veljo Tormis, Psalm 104 and 141 by Cyrillus Kreek, „Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice“ by Toivo Tulev, and „Two Prayers to the Heavenly Light“ by Riho-Esko Maimets (new composition commissioned by Flagey) among others.
The Arvo Pärt Days 2019 also features lectures, meditation sessions, a photo exhibition, films and documentaries.
