Patrik Sebastian Unt

Patrik Sebastian Unt has graduated from the Rapla Co-Educational Gymnasium (2018) and Rapla Music School in saxophone and piano performance (2017). He started to compose at the age of 11, he has took composition lessons from Tauno Aints (2013/2014) and has been given consultations about choral music by Pärt Uusberg. He has participated in several international music olympiads: in 2016 he achieved a bronze medal at the International Music Olympiad in Klaipėda, in 2018 he won a State Music Olympiad in Estonia as well as received a gold diploma at the International Music Olympiad in Tallinn. His choral work "Nüüd õhtu on" ("Now It’s Evening", text: Kersti Merilaas) was selected the best composition at both olympiads in 2018. Patrik has been given several scholarships and awards: Maxima Future Talent 2014, Rotary Humanitarian Scholarship 2018 and Rapla Parish Culture Award 2017. His accordion piece "Samba de Tartaruga Marinha" won the 3rd prize at the competition "Young Composer 2019" organised by the Estonian Composers' Union. He has written works for many different genres: for symphony orchestra, wind orchestra, mixed choir, male choir, female choir, saxophone quartet, piano, solo instruments, handbell ensemble and others. He is also active as an arranger.

Patrik Sebastian Unt has taken part in choral workshop as a concertmaster (conductor Franz M. Herzog) in Germany in the framework of Eurotreff 2015. He is closely involved in the work of such collectives as Mitte-Riinimanda Choirs (conductors Urve Uusberg and Pärt Uusberg), Veronika Portsmuth Choir Academy Vocal Group RING (director Veronika Portsmuth), Estonian Youth Mixed Choir (conductor Silja Uhs). From 2017–2018, Patrik was a conductor of Kehtna Mixed Choir Corvus. Patrik Sebastian Unt conducted male choirs at the Rapla County Song and Dance Festival in 2018.
