On October 21, Arvo Pärt’s O-Antiphonen (2008) for 8 cellos, version of choral work 7 Magnificat-Antiphonen (1988), will be premiered in Amsterdam Muziekgebouw. The piece will be performed by Dutch Cello Octet Conjunto Ibérico, whose concert entitled as Purple and Pärt takes place within the 2nd Amsterdam Cello Biennale and will be the last concert of Elias Arizcuren as the director of the octet. In addition, the program consists of Mauricio Kagel’s Motetten and Luciano Berio’s Korót – works commissioned also by Conjunto Ibérico and music by Manuel de Falla, Giovanni Sollima, Gianbattista degli Antonii, Jimi Hendrix and Marin Marais.
