The Minister of Culture designated the scholarships of culture

The minister Laine Jänes has designated governmental scholarships of culture to twenty people, 36 000 crowns each. Among other people the scholarships were given to six young musicians for studies in different foreign music colleges.

The scholarships were given to violinist Kaija Lukas for studies in Guildhall School of Music & Drama, composer Elo Masing for studies in Royal Academy of Music, violinist Ivi Ots for studies in Sibelius Academy, trumpet player Neeme Ots also in Sibelius Academy; conductor and percussionist Lehari Kaustel for studies in Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and cellist Indrek Leivategija for studies in Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

The scholarships of culture are for supporting significant cultural projects and creative commissions, also for supporting studies in foreign colleges or science centers. The minister can give out in all twenty scholarships per year.
