Concerts of the Estonian Association of Professional Musicians in April

The Estonian Association of Professional Musicians has planned two concerts in series Academic Chamber Music in April, also a choreographic concert-performance KuMu in KUMU.

On this Saturday, April 5th at 6 PM the piano quartet consisting of Mari Targo (violin), Kristiina Olev (viola), Ardo Västrik (cello) and Kadri-Ann Sumera (piano) will perform in series Academic Chamber Music. The program consists of Adagio and Rondo Concertante D 478 in F major by Franz Schubert, a premiere of Chopin’s Tears by Estonian composer Mari Vihmand and Piano Quartet in E flat major Op. 47 by Robert Schumann. Kadri-Ann Sumera writes about the new piece by Mari Vihmand as following: Knowing that her piece will be premiered between Schubert and Schumann, Vihmand twined a hint of romantic area to her piece as well – an excerpt from Chopin’s prelude that appears as if a memory and disappears again to the flow of dissonances.

Already in two weeks, on April 19th at 6 PM there is next concert in series Academic Chamber Music. The tenor Mati Turi and the pianist Martti Raide will perform pieces by Mart Saar, Jean Sibelius, Sergei Rachmaninov, Arnold Schönberg and Anton Webern.

Between two Academic Chamber Music concerts there will be event that unites different art disciplines: on April 15th at 7 PM KuMu in KUMU will take place in KUMU auditory. The mezzo soprano Triin Ella, the pianist Jorma Toots, the accordionist Sirje Mõttus, the choreographer Oksana Titova and the violinist Meelis Milli will participate in event titled Sequences. The musical program consists of works by Luciano Berio, Andy Pape, Mauricio Kagel and Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje. Sequences – it is musical and choreographic motion in contemporary time. This concert affords contemporary chamber music where the focus is on motion in music and dance. Through music unfolds the chain of events that is guided by impulses given by dancer.
