Tallinn Chamber Orchestra together with the violinist Robert Traksmann to perform at the Mozartiana festival in Gdansk

This weekend Tallinn Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Juha Kangas will perform together with the violin soloist Robert Traksmann at the XIV International Mozartiana Festival in Gdansk, Poland. The concert takes place on August 23 at the courtyard of the historic Abbot’s Palace in Oliwa Park and the programme consists of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The Mozartiana Festival aims to present the classical music, as well as jazz and folk music in historical interiors and outdoor surroundings, including the Oliwa Cathedral, the Abbots’ Palace, the Oliwa Park, and Uphagen House.

Violinist Robert Traksmann is a notable young musician who has collaborated as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra player with many ensembles and orchestras, including Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Estonian Festival Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, ensemble Vox Clamantis, and others. Traksmann is currently studying violin at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler with Kolja Blacher. Finnish conductor Juha Kangas has collaborated with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra since 2000.

Tallinn Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1993 by Tõnu Kaljuste, who is the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of  the orchestra. Today, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra has become one of Estonia’s leading chamber orchestras, which frequently appears on different concert venues in Europe and outside.
