Tallinn Chamber Music Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary



The 15th Tallinn Chamber Music Festival will be held from August 21 to 30 at different venues in Tallinn. The festival features Estonian musicians Kristel Pärtna (soprano), Kadi Jürgens (mezzo soprano), Atlan Karp (baritone), Maano Männi (violin), Andreas Lend (cello), Irina Zahharenkova (piano), Ralf Taal (piano), and others as well as Gitta-Maria Sjöberg (soprano) and Tobias van der Pals (cello) from Denmark and Vladimir Reshetko (cello) and Polina Fradkina (piano) from Russia. The artistic director of the Tallinn Chamber Music Festival is Pille Lill.

The anniversary festival begins with the concert on August 21 at St. Michael’s Church featuring young musicians from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn Music High School, Music School of CER, and various music schools.

On the evening of solo songs on August 22, the Marje and Kuldar Sink award „Young Singer 2019“ of Pille Lill Music Fund will be presented for the fourteenth time by Mari-Ann and Tunne Kelam at Tallinn Town Hall.

On August 29, the new work „Siuru laulud“ („Songs of Siuru“) for soprano, saxophone, cello, and accordion by Aaro Pertmann will be premiered at the Tallinn Town Hall. The performers are Pille Lill (soprano), Eve Neumann (saxophone), Jaak Lutsoja (accordion), and Andreas Lend (cello).

The festival ends on August 30 at Tallinn Town Hall with the concert of Trio Hemeis (Sigrid Kuulmann, Andreas Lend, Ralf Taal).
