On May 3, the world premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Violin Concerto No. 2 „Angel’s Share“ will take place in Tallinn House of Blackheads, new work will be performed by Hugo Ticciati, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and conductor Risto Joost. The program includes also Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 „Jupiter“ KV 550 and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s Symphony in E-flat major, Wq. 179.

Erkki-Sven Tüür about his new violin concerto: „The term „angel’s share“ is used for the evaporated 2% of liquid per year when whiskey is ageing in a wooden barrel, therefore letting go of some of the unpleasant tastes of raw whiskey replacing it with noble hints of the oak barrel. I like to think that people also, during their personalities maturing, could loose a certain portion of not the best in them. Hopefully with the help of our guarding angels...“

Concert is broadcast live on klassikaraadio.err.ee. Concert is followed by „Tüür-remix“, where composer’s music is performed in new light by Tiit Kikas (violin, laserharp), Mairo Marjamaa (saxophone), Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and conductor Risto Joost.
