Portrait concert of Lepo Sumera in Tallinn House of Blackheads

On November 21 at 7 pm, another concert of Tallinn Philharmonic Society’s series Portrait will take place in Tallinn House of Blackheads. This time the concert presents composer Lepo Sumera (1950–2000), whose music will be introduced and performed by musicologist Merike Vaitmaa, Kadri-Ann Sumera (piano), Tõnu Kalm (clarinet), Oksana Sinkova (flute) and Karmen Puis (mezzo soprano).

Senza metrum (1986) for clarinet and piano
2 Capriccios (1984) for solo clarinet
Silent Odalisque (1997) for solo flute
Pardon, Fryderyck! (1981) for piano
Fughetta and Postlude (1973) for piano
Stars (2000) for soprano and piano
Shakespeare’s Sonnet (1999) for soprano and piano
Puppet film „Spring Fly“ [„Kevadine kärbes“] (directors Riho Unt and Hardi Volmer, 1986)

At the concert series Portrait, both the interpreter and musicologist appear on the stage. Composer’s music will be performed and at the same time introduced its backrounds. The program consists not only the selection of composer’s works, but the aim is to show different sides of his/her nature as a creator.
