Season’s opening concert of the Palace Music Concert Series features Ciurlionis Quartet

On September 8, the new season of the Palace Music Concert Series will begin at the Kadriorg Palace with regular concerts on Sundays at 6 p.m. The opening concert will focus on the collaboration between the Baltic countries, as well as on the oeuvre of Ludwig van Beethoven.

The season's opening concert features highly respected Čiurlionis String Quartet (Jonas Tankevičius – violin, Darius Dikšaitis – violin, Gediminas Dačinskas – viola, Gleb Pyšniak – cello) from Lithuania. The Čiurlionis Quartet will present works by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and Ludwig van Beethoven.

The programme in September at the Palace Music Concert Series will include music by Pēteris Vasks and Arvo Pärt. Concerts in this season will feature various musicians, including soloists from the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra as well as guests from Austria, Brazil, China, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Greece, Finland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, USA, and Russia. Collaboration with the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre as well as with various music festivals will also continue this season.

The artistic director of the Palace Music Concert Series is Aare Tammesalu. Concerts are organised by Aare Tammesalu in collaboration with the Art Museum of Estonia.
