Iren Lill graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music in 1995 in the piano class of Heljo Sepp. In 2000–2002, she studied the harpsichord with Imbi Tarum at the Estonian Academy of Music and in 2002–2004 at the Music Academy of Cologne with Ketil Haugsand (harpsichord) and Gerald Hambitzer (basso continuo).
Iren Lill has participated in different master courses which have taken place in Estonia, Finland, Norway, France, Italy and Germany.
In 2000, Lill received a diploma at the competition “Bach 250”, organized by the Estonian Academy of Music.

As a soloist and a member of chamber ensembles and orchestras, Lill has performed in Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Norway, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Spain etc.
Since 2004, Iren Lill has played in ensemble “focus baroque” with viola da gamba player Holger Faust-Peters. Duo’s repertoire mainly consists of music from the Baroque period but they have also performed pieces by contemporary composers. Faust-Peters and Lill have performed numerous concerts all over Estonia and Germany. In February 2010, focus baroque released CD Anno 1698 under the record company ARS Produktion.
Iren Lill has also made recordings for the Estonian Public Broadcasting.

In 1992–2002, Iren Lill worked as a piano teacher at the Tallinn Music School and in 2006–2010, she was the producer of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians. She is also the artistic director and producer of Türi Spring Festival.
In addition, Lill operates as a translator and she writes music articles for Estonian newspapers and magazines.
