Grammy Award to conductor Tõnu Kaljuste for the CD „Arvo Pärt. Adam’s Lament“

CD „Arvo Pärt. Adam’s Lament“ (ECM, 2012) conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste was awarded the Grammy Award for the best choral performance. CD contains eight works by Arvo Pärt: Adam’s Lament, Beatus Petronius, Salve Regina, Statuit ei Dominus, Alleluja Tropus, L'Abbé Agathon, Estonian Lullaby and Christmas Lullaby. Music is performed by Latvian Radio Choir, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Vox Clamantis, Tui Hirv, Rainer Vilu, Sinfonietta Rīga and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.

Kaljuste was nominee also in the category of the best opera recording (CD Kleiberg „David & Bathsheba“). Among the nominees, there was also Neeme Järvi (CD „Parry. Works For Chorus & Orchestra“ in the category of the best choral performance, CD „Atterberg: Orchestral Works Vol. 1“ in the category of the best orchestral performance) and Arvo Pärt (CD „Adam’s Lament“ in the category of the best contemporary classical composition).
