Festival of Songs to Virgin Mary

From September 8 to 21, Festival of Songs to Virgin Mary will be held. The festival introduces music dedicated to Virgin Mary. This year the festival presents seven concerts in Tallinn, Tartu and Narva.

The festival features Tatjana Drobysheva (soprano), Izida Galimova (mezzo soprano), Julia Smirnova (soprano, cello) and Tuuliki Jürjo (organ) on September 8 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Tallinn and September 13 at Narva Alexander’s Cathedral; Kristiina Under (soprano), Ott Indermitte (baritone) and Piret Aidulo (ogran) on September 9 at St. Charles’s Church in Tallinn; Toomas Trass (organ) with chamber choir of Church of the Holy Spirit on September 16 in Tallinn at St. John’s Church in Tallinn; Tatjana Drobysheva (soprano) and Tuuliki Jürjo (organ) on September 17 at Tallinn St. John’s Church; Tuuliki Jürjo (organ) on September 20 at Tallinn Dome Church and Karmen Puis (soprano), Laili Jõgiaas (soprano), Lande Lampe-Kits (flute), Anna Humal (organ) and several church choirs on September 21 at St. Mary’s Church in Tartu. The program of the festival consists of music by Luigi Cherubini, Giulio Caccini, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Nino Rota, Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Schubert, Gabriel Fauré’, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Kuldar Sink, Sirje Kaasik, Andres Uibo, Urmas Sisask, Tuulik Jürjo and others.

The artistic director of the festival is Tuuliki Jürjo.
