Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral music in Rostock and Riga

Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Insula deserta (1989) and Lighthouse (1997) for string orchestra will be performed in few weeks in Germany and Latvia. Insula deserta is in the program of concerts of Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock on October 12, 13 and 14 in Rostock Volkstheater. The program includes also Reinhold Glière’s Concerto for Harp and Orchestra, Op. 74 (soloist Sarah Christ) and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3. Orchestra is conducted by Hendrik Vestmann, the chief conductor of Oper Bonn.

Lighthouse will be performed at the final concert of Autumn Chamber Music Festival in Riga Great Guild Hall by Sinfonietta Rīga. Program presents also Latvian premiere of Pēteris Vasks Cello Concerto No. 2 Presence (soloist Sol Gabetta) and Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 3. Conductor is Normunds Šnē.
