Erkki-Sven Tüür is a guest composer at the RUSK festival in Finland, his orchestral works to be performed in Czech and Sweden

Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Violin Concerto No. 2 „Angel’s Share“ (2018) will receive its Swedish premiere in Stockholm Musikaliska on November 11 at the concert of Orchestra Festival „North around the Baltic Sea“. The concert will be given by Chamber Orchestra O/Modernt New Generation and musicians from O/Modernt Chamber Orchestra with the soloist and conductor Hugo Ticciati.

Tüür’s orchestral work „Le poids des vies non vécues“ (2014) will be performed by Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Arvo Volmer on November 12 in Rudolfinum, Prague.

From November 20 to 24, Tüür is a guest composer at the RUSK chamber music festival in Jakobstad, Finland. Festival program includes „Flamma“ for string orchestra and chamber works „Fata Morgana“, „Symbiosis“, „Lichttürme II“ and „Conversio“, performers are The Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, Hugo Ticciati (violin), Elina Vähälä (violin), Nicolas Altstaedt (cello), Niek de Groot (double bass), Simon Crawford-Phillips (piano, conductor) and others. Festival theme is „Breaking Waves“ and its artistic directors are Sebastian Fagerlund and Christoffer Sundqvist.

Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Accordion Concerto „Prophecy“ will be performed by Ksenija Sidorova and Sinfonietta Riga (conductor Normunds Šnē) at three concerts in Sweden: on November 21 in Malmö Live Konserthus, November 22 in Gothenburg Concert Hall and November 24 in Örebro Concert Hall. Accordion Concerto will be performed on November 22 in Uppsala Concert and Congress Hall as well, where Uppsala Chamber Orchestra is conductor by Olari Elts, accordion soloist is Irina Serotyuk.
