Vsevolod Pozdejev

Vsevolod Pozdejev has studied trumpet in Tallinn Children's Music School (1992–1997) and piano with Mare Ots in Georg Ots Tallinn Music School (1998–2002). In 2002, he continued studies on piano with Valdur Roots at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, graduating with Master's degree in 2007. His composition teacher there was Prof. Jaan Rääts. In 2006, he complemented his studies as an exchange student at the Helsinki Sibelius Academy with Tarja Penttinen. Over his studying-years he has taken part in a number of masterclasses – with Arbo Valdma, Kalle Randalu, Vera Gornostajeva, Stephen Kovacevich, Dmitri Alekseyev and others. 2009–2011, Pozdejev hosted the radio program Misterioso at Radio 4. 2010–2014, he taught composition at the Narva Music School.
 
In 2013, City of Narva awarded Vsevolod Pozdejev as the best creative teacher. As a pianist, Vsevolod Pozdejev has given solo concerts in Estonia, Russia, Poland, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. In 2008, he participated as an accompanist in international opera festival Muzyczny Ogród Liczyrzepy 2008 in Poland.

As a composer, Vsevolod Pozdejev so far has written mainly instrumental and vocal chamber works as well as works for stage where the piano holds an important place. He has also created choral works and film music.

Pozdejev’s first chamber opera "Missis Elsa" (In memory of Russian writer and artist Elena Guro) was performed at the Winter Festival of the Pille Lill Music Fund (Tallinn, Narva 2013). The second chamber opera "Sieben Briefe zur Begegnung", based on the correspondence of Rainer Maria Rilke and Marina Tsvetayeva, was premiered in Luzerner Theater as the project of The Luzern School of Music (Switzerland, 2014, stage director Eva Laas).

Number of his works has been presented at the international festivals: Międzynarodowy Konkurs im Juliusza Zarębskiego (Poland, 2011), Usedom Music Festival (Germany, 2013), "From the Avant-garde to Our Days" (St. Petersburg, 2014), A European Pianorama (Bushey, UK, 2016), Bruchsaal Festival (Germany, 2018). In January 2017, three Vsevolod Pozdejev’s portrait concerts took place in Zurich and Luzern, program consisted of cantata "Sulamith", Suite for Flute and Piano and Lied cycle "Einsamkeit" (text Rainer Maria Rilke).

Since 2017, Vsevolod Pozdejev has been creating and performing his own music for silent films at the Regensburg Silent Film Week, which takes place every summer.

Since 2019, the publisher of Pozdejev's music is Compozitor Saint Petersburg. Since 2021,
Vsevolod Pozdejev has been a pianist in the ballet troupe of the Magdeburg Theater.
