Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra perform music by Arvo Pärt in China

During the period from 19 November to 25 November, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will perform music by Arvo Pärt in People’s Republic of China. Concerts will be conducted by Tallinn Chamber Orchestra’s chief conductor Risto Joost.

Five concerts will be held in China’s biggest and representative concert venues in Beijing, Wuhan, Changsha and Shanghai. The program consists of „Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten“ and „Fratres“, the most performed instrumental works by Pärt and „Te Deum“ and „Adam’s Lament“, the best examples of his vocal-instrumental music.

Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra have performed these masterworks several times in differnet concert halls in the world. Their first joint China-tour is organised between Tallinn Department of Culture and Beijing Poly Forbidden City Theatre Management Co. Ltd.

Concerts will take palce at Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall (November 19), Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall (November 21), Changsha Concert Hall (November 22), Shanghai Oriental Art Centre (November24) and Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre (November 25).
