Database of manuscripts of Estonian music was launched in cooperation of Estonian Music Information Centre, Estonian Theatre and Music Museum, Estonian Music Foundation and Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. The purpose of the database is to make available detailed and systematized information about the manuscripts of Estonian music for musicians and researchers. The database is displayed on EMIC’s web page in Estonian and English.

Description of every work is divided into two sections.

First section includes data about the musical work: composer, title, genre, year, instrumentation, number of movements, titles of movements, author of lyrics, incipit of the text, publishers, etc.

Second section includes data about the manuscript(s) of the described work: type of the manuscript (author manuscript, copy of manuscript, digital score, photo copy, printout of computer music engraving, etc), sort of the manuscript (score, piano score, orchestral parts, solo part, instrumental parts, choral part etc), number of pages, datum, status (finished or unfinished), location, etc.

Database of the manuscripts is connected with the EMIC’s composers’ work lists: every work in the list(s) is linked to the respective entry in the database of manuscripts and Museums Public Portal http://www.muis.ee/en_GB/ – online gateway of Estonian museums, which refers to the Estonian Theatre and Music Museum and other possible storage places of the scores.

Search engine of the database enables to find out manuscripts on ground of following characteristics: genre, composer, title, year of composition.
Database of manuscripts was launched in Januay 2014 and is being amended continually.
